The action of the series was placed in the romantic thirties of the twentieth century and speaks of the impossible love between Miroslav Balsic, the poor young man from the province, and Milena Novakovic, the rich successor to the bank's director. This series, together with the "Wounded Eagle" and "The Sorrow of Her Mother," is a kind of trilogy created by the novels of well-known Serbian writer Milica Jakovljevic, Mir-Jam, and realized by the same authorial team. According to the motives of her novel, the script was written by Zdravko Šotra. Miroslav Balsic (Ivan Bosiljcic) is an unemployed graduate lawyer who sings at bars because of his inability to find a job in the profession. Although he completely lost hope of getting a job, one day he will receive a letter in which a bank manager from the province invites him to be a teacher to his son who has problems at school and who offers him permanent employment in the profession if he returns his son to the right path . However, Miloslav falls in love with the daughter of a banker, beautiful Milena Novakovic (Sloboda Micaljovic-Cetkovic) ...
